On the modern monument to the battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas's shield has a representation of Deimos.

Deimos' voice actor is listed in the credits as "Josh Keaton" (the same man who played the Young Spartan in God of War 2 and the Boat Captain you see in both God of War 1 and 2), but Deimos never appears in God of War 3 (this leads me to believe this going to be DLC, rather than a whole new game).

to those who are unaware, Deimos is the son of Ares and Aphrodite.

You think that Deimos, terror incarnate, and son of Ares, dragged Kratos off the cliff?

... I like it.  It makes perfect sense; why list him in the credits if it relates to the DLC Stig confirmed on Kotaku?  Perhaps this all relates to the original lengthy ending that was cut due to time constraints.

I could have sworn in the past trailers for GoW 3 there was a small glimpse of Kratos running and fighting in the forest near a river unless I'm just seeing things. In the end, I don't mind a DLC at all since they did say that it will be free.

your on to some thing with this! i think your right , also at boss battel with zuse at end of the game when kratos and zuse are on the lilttle platform when gaia shows up , zuse tells gaia that she picked the wrong pawn and her plan has failed. so that leeds me to think who eles if not kratos would have been gaia 's pawn to attack zuse and the other gods? and thats where i think you might be right about your spartans stand tall idea. Deimos would have been the other pawn ?? maybe . what do you think. good post bjlegend

The forest part was on Gaia's back, but I like this Deimos theory... If we're lucky, we'll get a Deimos battle and a new titan battle (hyperion, titan of light perhaps?)

but i'll go one further by saying that perhaps the "Young Spartan" is Deimos!

kratos changed the fate of the spartans when he stopped zeus from destroying Sparta, and it's rather odd that the Young Spartan never appears again.

isn't it a BIT ODD that this one spartan could put up such a fight against kratos (the battle is pretty damn hard on god mode)?

then there's the strange voice you hear while floating in the water in kratos' mind, as you catch a line that wasn't said in god of war 3: "A Spartan never lets his back touch the ground. Right brother?"

and it sounds EXACTLY like Josh Keaton!

I highly doubt Deimos dragged Kratos off the cliff though. The blood patterns don't look at all like he was drug anywhere. It looks like he got up from his own free will and went over to the edge of the cliff. If this idea is correct though, it could've been when he was standing at the edge.

dude that will be so badass if you're right! Hopefully giving a great ending to the game and erasing the unsatisfying feeling I got when I beat the game, it felt like something was missing. Also for some reason before the game came out I always thought that zeus might not be the final boss, but rather the second to final boss, games tend to pull that twist.
